Kindergarten Round-Up
It's that time of the year again!
We are accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year for all incoming kindergarteners. If your son or daughter (or anyone else you know who lives in our district who has a son or daughter) will be turning five before September 1, 2021, please stop by the school to pick up an enrollment packet.
We will be collecting the packets for the next couple of months. In May, we'll hold our kindergarten orientation meeting. Hopefully, this year we will be able to do it in person.
Please help us get the word out to parents in our district. It is very helpful to know how many students we will have for planning purposes.
School reopening information
Based on the new and updated guidance that was issued by the state on Thursday, January 14th, the district must post additional information about the reopening of the school

Parent Involvement - Title i information
The teachers and staff of Pleasant Valley Joint Union Elementary School District know that parents are a student’s first and best teacher. Parents, schools, families, and communities working together, however, can create meaningful partnerships that ultimately lead to significant gains across the board in student achievement.
The goal of any school parent involvement program is to increase student achievement by engaging and empowering parents, and other stakeholders, to become actively involved in their children’s education across all grade levels.
At Pleasant Valley, there are many opportunities for parents and staff to work together to improve the education of our students.
P.A.S.E., our school's PTO is one way you can get involved. Please look for their monthly messages about their upcoming meetings.
Below are the district policies around parent involvement.

Pleasant Valley School and District
Pleasant Valley School, nestled in the beautiful vineyard covered hills of San Miguel has been creating successful learners and members of the community since 1884. Students in kindergarten through sixth grade attend this wonderful school, and despite its small size, the school still provides the equivalent 21st Century education that is available in the much larger districts.
The school community prides itself on its long-standing tradition of strong parent and community involvement. Yearly events, such as the Harvest Festival, Color Run, and Thanksgiving Feast add to the sense of community involvement in the school.
The faculty and staff of PVS are highly qualified, caring professionals who promote a warm, safe, and family-oriented atmosphere. They value pride in education and life-long learning. The small class sizes and high staff to student ratios mean that students can receive individual help for their educational and other needs. One-to-one technology and a dedicated science STEM lab are just two of the great offerings that this tiny but mighty school has to offer.
Pleasant Valley School is a little out of the way but not too hard to find. It's just a short 15-minute drive NE of Paso Robles. Stop by and check us out!
